Abstract
With progress of electronic science and technology, almost every family in Taiwan has at least one TV set. People in Taiwan have over one hundred TV channels, such as terrestrial television - TTV, CTS - and Cable TV - AXN, HOLLY WOOD, CNN, DISCOVERY..etc. They sit in front of the TV set every day watching TV. Watching TV is a part of their daily life.atching TV programs is already quite popular and convenient. One thing the user just has to do is turn on the TV, and choose the channels with his thumb on the remote controller. But it is not convenient for the users to know in advance what is going to be shown in today, tommorrow or the day after tommorrow. The user might miss the show or the movie which he likes because of the lack of information. The user sometimes doesn''t have enough free time or even doesn''t have time to watch the whole program in front of TV set at a time. he purpose of this paper is to design and implement a Cable TV schedule recorder system. We will extend Joomla! to construct our EPG system. Let Cable TV users can easily schedule their recordings.
