Abstract
Today, citizens living in modern countries almost use convenient transportation such as Rapid Transit Systems and subways. They depend greatly on these public transportations. But Rapid Transit Systems or subways are generally built in the underground. If there was a fire accident in the tunnels, it would pose a dangerous situation for human.
Therefore, this thesis takes fire accidents occur in the tunnels of MRT for research subject. Analyze and discuss the smoke control system. In the study, the results of the fluid flow in fire environment were calculated by PHOENICS, which is a general-purpose package produced by CHAM Ltd. Use the software to simulate the flow phenomenon of the smoke. In the numerical simulation, the smoke control mode and flow rate designed will be initiated. The smoke control mode of the tunnels is use of the TVF (Tunnel Ventilation Fan) and JAF (Jet Air Fan) of the station.
From the results of this study, the smoke control system that we design is very useful for fire accidents of the tunnels. We can obtain the passages to evacuate. The passages also conform to the standard of NFPA130.
