Abstract
Three types of metal complexes with naphthyridine-functionalized amine ligands, 2-α-pyridylamino-1,8-naphthyridine (Hpyany) and N-1,8-naphthyridyl methylamide (Hnyma) have been prepared. irst, a series of linear tetranickel complexes coordinated by two kinds of ligands, Hpyany and p-toluenesulfonyl di-pyridyl-di-amine (H2Tsdpda), have been synthesized. Their structures were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The ligands, Hpyany and H2Tsdpda, have been deprotonated to act as tetradentate ligands and helically wrapped the nickel metal ions to form a tetranuclear metal string, which is structurally similar to the previous report.
