Abstract
In this thesis, we consider a scenario that users are far from the base station in a cellular system, thus a relay is needed to communicate among the base station and mobile stations. However, when the distances between a dedicate relay and some mobile stations served by other relay are not far enough, inter-user interference (IUI) is induced among the different transmitters. Leveraging form the interference alignment and physical-layer network coding, we propose a joint scheme not only to alleviate the IUI, but also to provide parallel signal transmission both from the BS and from the MS. Therefore, the overall system throughput can be significantly increased.
In the decode and forward (DF) and amplify and forward (AF) relay systems, we design the precoder and receive filter jointly by using physical network coding and interference alignment. Numerical results are demonstrated to verify the merits of our proposed schemes.
