Abstract
To know the effects on growth, and non-specific immune responses from dietary supplement of fruiting bodies of Cordyceps militaris and rice medium of Cordyceps militaris on black carps(Mylopharyngodon piceus). In the following experiment will be in two parts, first experiment, adding fruiting bodies of Cordyceps militaris as dietary supplement on a dose-dependent 0, 0.25, 0.5, 1 and 2% as weight as total feeds. Second experiment, dose-dependent effects of rice medium of Cordyceps militaris were added as 0, 1.25, 2.5, 5 and 10% as total weight of feeds.
In experiment I, initial weight of 5.05±0.17g black carps were selected and fed twice a day for continuously 8 weeks. The result shows that the precent weight gain (PWG) of fish feeding diet with 1% fruiting bodies was significantly higher than other-does-treatment. In non-specific immune response of black carp, fish feeding diet containing 1, 2, 0.5% weight of fruiting bodies have the highest superoxide anion (O2-) production rate than other treatments after 16, 32, 56 days, respectively. The groups have the highest phagocytic index were fed with 0.25, 2% fruiting bodies in feeding after 32, 56 days, respectively, however, it shows no significant differences in phagocytic index between control and experiments groups in 16 days. The lysozyme activity in 16, 32 and 56 days, shows adding with 0.5, 0.25 and 0.25 fruiting bodies have the highest efficiency.
In experiment II, initial weight was 5.55±0.24g were selected to treated with rice medium. The result shows that the precent weight gain (PWG) of fish feeding diet with 1.25% rice medium is the best among all the treatments, but have no significant differences. In non-specific immune responses of black carp, fish feeding diet with 2.5, 10 and 10% rice medium as weight as total feeds have the highest superoxide anion (O2-) production rate compare to each treatments in 16, 32 and 56 days, respectively. In phagocytic index, the feeding treatment with 1.25, 10 and 10% rice medium have the highest phagocytic index among each groups in 16, 32, 56 days, respectively. The lysozyme activity in 16 days showed highest in 10% weight rice medium feeding, and in 32 and 56 days treatment, 5 and 2.5% rice medium feeding have the highest activity.
