Abstract
In recent years the evolution in education and training at a distance can be characterized as a move from d-Learning (distance Learning) to e-Learning (electronic Learning), and then to m-Learning (mobile learning).
This paper mainly studies how to use SVG(Scalable Vector Graphics) and Java ME to realize a simulation content and a mobile teaching platform. The SVG was used to design static content. The vector scalability of SVG allows the content to be easily adapted to mobile phones in any size of screen.
Next, the SMIL(Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language)was used to animate the static content .Thus the animating content can imitate the true physical phenomenon and realize the e-simulation purpose.
Finally, the Java ME was adopt to produce a Java based SVG Animator to display the learning content. In this way, not only can we meet the cross-platform software demands, but also make the teaching and learning interactive and effective.
