Abstract
The convergence and adoption of IFRS is popular around the world in recent years. There were 8,000 listed companies in Europe Union making their consolidated financial statements by IFRS. To avoid increasing entity’s cost by making two sets of financial statements, Accounting Research and Development Foundation in Taiwan and Taiwan Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) announced that it would form a task force to study the adoption of IFRS in Taiwan. Having a good plan is the most important pre-work. The fist step is to understand the difference between these two GAAPs. I arrange the difference about financial instrument between Taiwan GAAP and IFRS in this paper.
