Abstract
Summary
Based on literatures , investigation and inquiries , this study discussed the development of cricket cultures in Taiwan and China. Ancient Chinese poems and songs subjected on crickets were collected and illuminated their meanings and implications. Also , the rearing kits of singing insects and gadget for cricket fighting ; were categorized and contrasted the rules on cricket fighting in Taiwan and China . Finally the role of electronic media , educational institutional and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in promoting cricket culture , under the participation of local communities were discussed . As an insect resource and related business in terms of biodiversity conservation , the cricket culture and its peripheral ecological business could develop substantially in Taiwan .
