Abstract
A novel polarization reconfigurable array antenna is proposed and fabricated. Measured results validate the performance improvement in port isolation and cross polarization level. The antenna can operate with vertical and horizontal polarizations at the same time and hence realize polarization diversity. By adding a polarization switch, the antenna can provide either RHCP or LHCP radiations. A total of four polarization modes can be facilitated with this antenna array and may find applications in new and up-coming wireless communication standards that require polarization diversity.
