Abstract
The title compound was synthesized by mixing of 2,6-bis(2′-pyridyl)-pyridazine (PPA) with 20-fold iodine in acetonitrile. The black needle crystals were obtained after one month. The structure of this compound have been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffractometry. This crystal have P21/c space group with a = 7.620(3), b = 9.273(2), c = 25.006(6), ß = 98.70(3). The iodine is present as linear I3- form interrupted between stacking PPA column. Other physical properties characterized by elemental analysis, NMR, ESR, Raman, IR, UV/VIS/NIR, MS, magnetic susceptibility and electric conductivity will be discussed. The electric conductivity is 5×10-8 Scm-1 at room temperature and thermally activated with activation energy of 0.60eV. © 1989.
