A-Dependence of the Inclusive Production of Hadrons with High Transverse Momenta

We present new data on the A dependence of the inclusive production of high transverse-momentum hadrons, both singles and symmetric pairs. These data qualitatively support the hypothesis that the observed A dependence results from multiple scattering of quarks and gluons within the target nucleus. © 1985 The American Physical Society.
