The study focuses on the safety design during the product design process. By combining the processes of product design and risk management, the study implements the concept of product safety into the product design process so as to integrate a product safety design process. It is hoped that possible hazards can be prevented in design stage and make the product safer. This work uses portable cookers attached to liquefied petroleum gas cylinder as an example to prove its feasibility.
