Abstract
The main content of this research is to develop a secondary aerosol mechanism which is particularly intended for incorporation into the trajectory photochemical air quality model (TPAQM). By using equilibrium constant (K), activity coefficient (γ), water activity (aw) and relative humidity of deliquescence (RHD) properties in secondary aerosol model, we set the model and tested the sensitiveness. Besides, we used TPAQM to study the ozone episodes in Southern Taiwan area and discussed the importance of the secondary aerosol mechanism. We also compared our simulation results with monitoring data which sampled by Wu(1998) at Da-Liao station during 1998 .
The results of case-simulation indicated that the secondary aerosol mechanism makes decrease 4.5% on ozone concentration. It means the secondary aerosol mechanism can’t be ignored. The results of case- simulation of sulfate, ammonium and nitrate are 9.6 μg/m3, 7.9 μg/m3, 14.8 μg/m3, respectively.
Compared with monitoring data, we got the same tendency on ozone and aerosol simulation. The average values of Sulfur Oxidation Ratio (S.O.R), Nitrogen Oxidation Ratio (N.O.R) and Neutralization Ratio (N.R) are 0.31, 0.13 and 1.01 respectively.
