Abstract
This thesis discusses the development of engineering consultant industry in Taiwan, and takes one large engineering consultant institution as an example, discussing its development and internationalization, and analyzing the role of state by documentary analysis, historical analysis and in-depth interview. Besides, this thesis analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of engineering consultant industry in Taiwan and makes some suggestions on policy-making.
This research found that the state played its assisting role for this engineering consultant institution, providing the best conditions and resources for this institution to grow. However, the best conditions and resources gave from the state lead to the development involution of this institution. Moreover, the state, in the future, should be more aggressive in the policy-making, helping Taiwan’s engineering consultant industry to explore outside markets.
