Abstract
As communication systems operate at low signal-to-noise ratio conditions, synchronizationay become a serious problem.n the thesis, we consider the coded modulation systems which are not explicitlyrovided with the information of coherent phases. We investigate algorithms for jointarrier phase estimation and ambiguity resolution for the AWGN channel.n easily-implemented serially-concatenated coding system is presented that can oper-te with phase estimation technique which is integrated into the iterative decoding loop.t each iteration, we use soft information from MAP decoder to estimate the carrierhase and compensate it for the next iteration. Various phase models are taken intoonsideration. We can always achieve satisfactory error performance.
