Abstract
A study was carried out to evaluate the performance of receptor model on total suspended particulate (TSP) source resolution in Taiwan. Focus was on finding the characteristic components of source emissions, identifying the possible pollution contributions, and examining the applicability of localized source profiles. A long-term sampling plan, from 1989 to 1997, was designed to measure the concentration of TSP matter by high-volume samplers in Sanchung. Air samples were collected twice a month on the glass fiber filter. Each filter sample was cut into four pieces for analyses of elemental constitutes, anion species and PAH species. Besides, the morphology of the particles was examined from the SEM analysis. Sequentially, the characteristics of particulate matter and apportion source contributions were derived using statistical models.
