Abstract
Left ventricular assist device (LVAD) driveline infections (DLIs) are common complications (1) and frequently recur despite definite treatment due to bacterial entry and biofilm formation. We report the first case of recurrent, extensively drug-resistant LVAD infection successfully cured using systemic antimicrobials, continuous in-situ targeted antibiotics (CITA), and repeated surgical interventions, highlighting CITA's therapeutic potential.
