Abstract
The main purpose of this thesis is to optimize the stereoscopic viewing
experience on mobile device. The first part of this thesis proposes an system
which instantly adjusting the depth of video to comfort zone as much as possi-
ble, and the second part proposes a content-aware warping-based stereoscopic
video depth adaptation method which adapts the depth range of stereoscopic
videos to comfort zone. This method prevents the shape of salient regions
from distortions as much as possible while distorting less important regions.
The autostereoscopic mobiles makes it easier to capture and watch stereo-
scopic videos. Because of the constraint of mobile’s size, the comfort zone
of mobile is much narrower than other devices. The output videos often re-
sult in diplopia(double vision) or non-prominent sense of depth. By using
our system, users can get better stereoscopic viewing experience of videos on mobile.
