In a firm which has a mature knowledge management system, how to encourage employees to share their own knowledge is a key topic for employers. This study makes a set of strategies for employers to obtain the important knowledge from employees. We focus on behavior in knowledge sharing, it is a case study in a famous engineering consulting firm (For privacy protection, we give it a code name of Firm A), which have over 1,700 employees in Taiwan. The study is based on a game-theoretical model that developed by Wu (2006), fellow its implication of knowledge categorization and sharing model, we make some employee related and firm related parameters and establish an adjusted empirical model for empirical test. For data collection, an anonymous questionnaire is sent to 1,164 employees in Firm A. After analyzed by descriptive statistics and regression, we stand on the side of employers, and develop a set of strategies for employees with different types of knowledge. |
