Abstract
As we are entering the era of knowledge economy, the construction organizations are starting to develop knowledge management system, which makes it easier to put knowledge in use, and helps to run an organization. At present, there are many research focus on the result of inducting knowledge management to the industry, but few essays concern about the participation in the users'' end. This paper aims to build evaluation indicators of user participation in order to provide feedbacks for managers.his paper first examines varied evaluation methods of users'' participation in different industries. Second, gaining in depth understanding of evaluation methods, and sorting out important evaluation factors by interviewing engineering consultants. The use of two-step questionnaire survey with item analysis and influencing factors analysis helps to objectivate personal feelings into a reasonable user participation indicators. The indicators includes four groups: forum discussion, system statistics, activity participation, and knowledge document relating; they are put in orders through overall average and inter-indicators relevant analysis.he concluding part of the paper puts users'' past performances (from the engineering consultant firm) into the indicators, quantitates the user participation, and completes the evaluation items of the indicators.
