Abstract
Ambient light photodetectors emulate the
photo-response of human eye, and can find
important applications in brightness control
for smart display devices. In this collaborate
work with ADD Microtech Corporation, we
develop a simulator for ambient light detector,
which were used to design and evaluate the
photo-responses of ambient light detectors.
Besides the simulation for Si devices,
detectors based on AlGaAs materials were
also designed and fabricated. The devices
shows a peak wavelength at 565nm with a
responsivity of 0.05A/W and a linewidth of
only 110 nm. The response is very close to
CIE standard photoptic luminous function.
