Progressive strider resulting from bilateral vocal cord paralysis and hypoventilation was evident. The authors suggest that for infants or children who exhibit vocal cord paralysis, mitochondrial disorders, such as Leigh disease, should be considered. (C) 1999 by Elsevier Science Inc.
