Abstract
Mr. Yu-Shian Deng, esteemed as the Father of Taiwan Music, composed numerous well-known folk songs that are considered as the milestones of the Taiwan music history. The Cultural Affairs Bureau of Taoyuan County in Taiwan has established a digital archive of Mr. Deng to commemorate his achievement. This study describes the authors’ experiences in cultural product design for the archive. Based on the analyses of the archival content and historical background, this study proposed a design approach that emphasizes the content and context characteristics of the archive. This approach may be applied in the future value added applications and cultural product design projects for people-centered archives.
