The electrochemical characteristics of the prepared electrodes assembled in coin cells were investigated in terms of half-cell performance. It was observed that the cell exhibits three discharge plateaus. The total discharge capacity, averaged over several test runs, is about 1250 mAh/g. The mechanism of electrochemical reaction of LiVMoO 6 with Li was studied in situ by the synchrotron X-ray diffraction method. It was found that LiVMoO6 undergoes irreversible decomposition during the first discharge. © 2005 The Electrochemical Society. All rights reserved. |
