Abstract
A series of covalently-linked ‘chromophore–quencher’ compounds which contain the Au(CCPh) chromophore linked to pyridinium and quaternary ammonium acceptors or anthracene by flexible tethers have been synthesized and subjected to photophysical study in solution; the crystal structure of the anthracene complex has been determined.
