Hemoperitoneum with hypovolemic shock, due to the adrenal tumor rupture, occurred during the patient's hospitalization. Laparotomy was performed for hemostasis. The major bleeder was located in the perforation hole of the right adrenal tumor. The tumor and the right kidney were excised in toto and the pathology turned out to be choriocarcinoma. Adjuvant chemotherapy with etoposide, methotrexate, actinomycin-D, cyclophosphamide, and vincristine (EMA/CO) was given to the patient. There was no recurrence of choriocarcinoma one year after the operation and the patient's serum, β-hCG remained normal. |
