On the basis of the quantitative analyses of a set of prototype molecular crystals, we have verified a correlation relationship between the nature of THz modes and the lengths of chain molecules. A molecular backbone fused with carbon rings tends to lead to a more extensive distribution of intramolecular vibrations in the THz frequency region, compared with that formed with single bond connections.
