Abstract
Numerical experiments to ensure the effectiveness of the complex-power error-estimation criteria and to exclude the use of the energy and reciprocity criteria are Conducted for one-dimensional wave propagation problems. From these a practical error bound is established for the wave field as well as for the reflection and transmission coefficients.
