dc.description.abstract | Hoarseness is one of the possible side effects of inhaled steroid in asthmatic patients as well as a common presenting feature of laryngeal tuberculosis. We report an asthmatic patient on inhaled corticosteroid treatment who presented with a 3-month history of hoarseness. Laryngeal tuberculosis without pulmonary involvement was diagnosed by laryngeal biopsy and microbiologic studies. Laryngeal tuberculosis should be considered in asthmatic patients who present with hoarseness, at least in regions in which tuberculosis is prevalent.
