Abstract
In first part, analyze the texts of sexual assault news of twelve Taiwan journalists, and discovered the factors which effect the representation of rape myth in sexual assault news. The factors include the types of the sexual assault news, the job of female survivors, the writing habit of the news words, gender of the journalists, and the sources in the news most come from the police or the prosecutors. And the different style of newspaper will also influence the representation of rape myth. In the second part, focusing on one single case of sexual assault news, I find the interaction between the journalists and the news field would also effect the representation of rape myth. The dimensions of these interactions include the pressure to compete with other journalists, the more-capital journalist’s influence, the learning action, the law restriction and personal experience. One thing to concern is that patriarchy is not the only factor to effect the representation of rape myth in Taiwan news, but I found the journalist in the news field have the possibility in changing.
