本研究計畫將會是全世界第一個採用4D心臟超音波與全基因定序技術探討心內膜墊缺損之可能基因變異與心臟功能的研究。研究結果預期將能使學界了解基因變異對於先天性心臟病致病機的角色，並進一步了解基因變異可能對疾病長期預後的潛在影響。
