The bioglass ceramics with chemical composition of NaO 8.4﹪, CaO 40.6﹪, SiO 39﹪ and PO 12﹪ showed a hgih bending strength and compressive strength and compressive strength of 160-190 MPa and 800-970 MPa Respectively. After nucleated at 800℃ for 50 minutes and crystalized at 890℃for 70 minutes, the specimen exhibited a fine and uniformed grain size of about 20 μm under optical microscopy. Biocompatibility test for the bioglass ceramics was conducted by the cell culture and implantcd in rat shoulder. The results showed that the specimens formed a tight chemical bond with biological texture and had a good biocompatibility.#A 3193116
