Abstract
Traditional morphology, ultrastructure, and molecular markers are proposed for
taxonomic research, to study the living insects both as immatures and adults in this project,
and the quantitative data will be applied for clarifying systematic relationships with cladistics
analysis. A higher priority for the project in this year is to publish with the combination of
morphological and molecular traits. The long-term will apply more techniques such as
molecular markers, acoustic signal analysis, and mating behavior. To gather more data in
understanding the diversity and evolution of whitefly species, for assessing and reconstructing
the phylogenetic tree of whiteflies.
