<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;text-indent:6pt;"> The Center for Condensed Matter Sciences (CCMS), established in October 1992, is an interdisciplinary research institute reporting directly to the Vice President of National Taiwan University. The overall goal of CCMS is to be a leading research institute engaged in frontier basic research and technology development. It emphasizes the development of specialized technical expertise and the establishment of advanced facilities to promote the research and technological accomplishments through collaborations with outstanding domestic and international research groups. </p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;text-indent:6pt;"> The fields of research in CCMS encompass physics, chemistry, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, materials science, etc. In recent years, the research work at CCMS has been focused in the following two areas: (1) emergent materials and advanced devices, and (2) spectro-microscopy. Expertise of research groups and labs includes Inorganic Materials, Thin Film Heterostructures & Spintronics, Semiconductor Physics & Nano Electronics, Molecular Materials, Theoretical Modeling and Materials Computations, Electron Microscopy, Laser Spectroscopy, and Surface NanoScience and Nano-Physics. Currently, we have 11 regular research faculty members (and/or professors), 9 adjunct faculty members through joint appointments, 4 NSC research scholars, more than 20 postdoctoral associates, and over 100 graduate students and assistants. In the last five years, over 100 research projects have been completed, and over 100 students have obtained M.S. and Ph.D. degrees based on studies carried out at CCMS. More than 200 scholars from various departments and universities have participated in various projects. </p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;text-indent:6pt;"> The overall goal is to establish an outstanding research center with excellent scholars and facilities to promote interdisciplinary research and to develop advanced graduate programs for fostering new scientists and engineers. The collaborative research comprises the fields of physics, chemistry, materials science and engineering (electrical, chemical and mechanical, etc.), with participating researchers from various universities, Academia Sinica, Industrial Technology and Research Institutes, and Synchrotron Radiation Research Center, etc. Research studies are to be focused on novel materials/structures and new techniques, directly relevant to the industrial development of this country. Therefore, team efforts from basic research to device applications among the academic and the industrial communities are particularly encouraged. </p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;text-indent:6pt;"> In order to cultivate new generations of R&D experts with interdisciplinary trainings and experiences, we will endeavor to set up graduate curriculum offering M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in emerging topics. The teaching and research faculties shall come from this Center and various departments of Science and Engineering Colleges of the University. With planning to be in full operation in six years, we expect this program would eventually involve 45 faculty members, 80 master students, 50 doctoral students, 50 postdoctorals and 30 visiting scholars. Our objective is to establish CCMS as one of the most advanced teaching and research labs in the world. </p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent:24pt;"> 凝態科學研究中心為臺大校級研究機構,成立宗旨在於建立一個跨領域及前瞻性的研究中心,結合專業傑出的研究人力與先進尖端的研究設備,建立跨院系、校際、和國際間之密切合作,從事基礎與應用科學領域的整合型研究及卓越科技人才培訓,期以加速提升我國之科學及技術水準並與先進國家並駕齊驅。 </p><p class="MsoNormal"> 中心研究領域涵蓋物理、化學、電機、化工、材料及應用等學門;近年來研究特色、強項與能量均集中在兩大領域:新穎尖端材料與微觀能譜顯微技術。目前已設立無機尖端材料、尖端薄膜異質結構與自旋電子、半導體物理與奈米電子、有機分子材料、理論模擬與材料計算、電子顯微學、雷射光學、表面奈米科學與奈米物理等9個研究組與實驗室,成員包括11位專任教授與研究員、1位榮譽教授、9位合聘教授與研究員、4位科技部研究學者、約20位博士後及上百位研究助理與研究生。近五年來中心研究人員所主持之研究計畫超過百項以上,在中心實驗室做研究而獲得碩士及博士學位之研究生已超過百位,而曾與中心有合作計畫的校內外學者亦超過200人。 </p><p class="MsoNormal"> 中心未來發展之方向與願景包括: </p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:28.3pt;text-indent:-28.3pt;"> 一、 建置尖端核心研究設備及其相關頂尖專業技術,提供專業諮詢,促進專家與使用者之間的學術合作與互動,以有效推動校內外,與國際間跨領域的科技合作研究。 </p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:28.3pt;text-indent:-28.3pt;"> 二、 加強增進與國際一流研究機構學術交流及技術合作,延聘國外著名研究學者專家來臺參與尖端科技之研究,以期提升研究品質,引進新穎研究技術,為臺大進軍“世界一流大學”的目標而努力。 </p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:28.3pt;text-indent:-28.3pt;"> 三、 擴大國內交流,推動與校內外各相關系所及單位合作,並提供實驗平臺。利用本中心所建置的各類尖端核心設施,結合國內各傑出研究團隊,大力提升研究水平。同時亦參與開創跨領域及新穎實驗技術之教學課程,培育高科技人才,幫助國內工業之晉級和轉型。<span style="line-height:1.5;"></span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:28.3pt;text-indent:-28.3pt;"><span style="line-height:1.5;"><a href="http://www.ntu-ccms.ntu.edu.tw/99ccms/chinese/home.html" target="_blank">http://www.ntu-ccms.ntu.edu.tw/99ccms/chinese/home.html</a></span></p>
