Description
The Graduate Institute of Biomedical Electronics and Bioinformatics (abbreviated as BEBI) was established on August 1st, 2006. The Institute is positioned in integrating Electrical Engineering and Information Engineering to conduct prospective academic study and interdisciplinary teaching. In other words, BEBI’s mission is to enhance the quality of interdisciplinary academic study and study to cope with rapid development of biotechnology in recent years. BEBI’s research fields includes Biomedical Electronics, Molecular/ Cell/ Tissue Imaging, Biomedical Signal Processing, Bio Photonics, Sensors, Micro-Array Analysis, Computer-Aided Diagnostics, Bioinformatics, Systems Biology, Medical Informatics, and etc. In order to excel in these specialized fields and to seek potential cooperation opportunities, it is crucial to integrate professions from diversified research fields. In August 2006, BEBI began to enroll doctoral program, 17 Doctoral students enroll in the program every year. Master Program enrollment were started since August 2007, 44 Master’s students (including 2 in-service program students) enroll in the program annually. BEBI now with 27 faculties with diversified professions, including Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Biology, Pharmacy, Biomedical Engineering, and Life Sciences. The courses are designed to provide students with sufficient interdisciplinary training to meet the challenges of bioengineering development. BEBI’s current focus is to conduct integrated study on key biomedical problems, industry issues, and interdisciplinary training program. We look forward to the continued growth of BEBI and make sounded contribution to biotechnology and health care.
