<p>There are six full-time and three clinical teachers in the faculty of the department of anesthesiology currently. All the teachers are engaged in both clinical service and research in diversified scopes including anesthesia, pain management, critical care, and basic medical science as well.</p><p>Major interests of research encompass molecular mechanism of nociception (Prof. Sun We-Zen), utilization of transesophageal echocardiography during cardiac surgery (Prof. Wang Ming-Jiuh), fuzzy control anesthesia (Head Prof. Fan Shou-Zen), and the effect of anesthetics on ischemiareperfusion injury (Prof. Lin Chen-Jung and Cheng Ya-Jung).</p>
