俞何興2006-07-252018-06-282006-07-252018-06-282004http://ntur.lib.ntu.edu.tw//handle/246246/14845台灣西南海域收集的多頻道震 測剖面及台灣陸上的地質資料,同時 運用來調察,台灣西部變形前緣的位 置及其特徵。台灣西部地質構造帶的 最西側,大致上可以連成直線,雖然 有少部份的構造被平移斷層錯動。台 灣西部變形前緣由馬尼拉海溝北端, 接近北緯廿一度處,沿著澎湖海底峽 谷向北延伸至澎湖海底峽谷上游處, 大約位在北緯廿二度十五分。變形前 緣由此急劇轉向東北,並且可以與西 南濱海平原的中洲逆衝斷層或台南摺 皺相連,變形前緣沿着西部麓山帶西 緣,繼續向北伸展至北緯廿五度的濱 海平原。 地質構造、形變、沈積及地体構 造的特徵随著變形前緣的位置,由南 到北發生變化。摺皺、穿刺構造及初 期逆衝斷層普遍伴生著變形前緣。沿 着變形前緣走向構造型態的變化,主 要反映台灣區域斜向碰撞不同的階 段。台灣西部變形前緣(碰撞前緣)可 以視為一個應力的邊界,在台灣造山 帶為壓縮區域,相鄰中國大陸邊緣一 側為張裂。台南盆地東側的變形前緣 及其向北延伸部份(西部麓山帶的最 西端),可以視為一個地質表面邊界, 西側為前淵盆地,東側為前陸逆衝斷 層帶,而非台灣與中國大陸邊緣的界 限。台灣西南海域的變形前緣可以視 為一個地質表面邊界,東側為海下台 灣造山楔形體,西側為中國大陸被動 邊緣,而非歐亞大陸板塊與菲律賓海 板塊的界限。Marine seismic reflection profiles from offshore SW Taiwan combined with onland geological data are used to investigate the distribution and nature of the deformation front wet of Taiwan. Locations of the frontal structure west of Taiwan are generally connected in a linear fashion, although the alignment of frontal structure is offset by strike-slip faults. The deformation front begins from the northern Manila Trench near 21 N and continues northward along the course of the Penghu Submarinre Canyon in a nearly N-S direction north of 21 N until it reaches the upper reaches of the Penghu Canyon at about 22 15 N. The deformation front then changes direction sharply to the northeast. It connects to the Chungchou thrust fault or the Tainan anticline in the coastal plain and continues northwards along the outer Western Foothills to the northern coast of Taiwan near 25 N. Characteristics of structural style, strain regime, sedimentation and tectonics vary along the trend of the deformation. Ramp anticlines, diapiric intrusion and incipient thrust faults are commonly associated with the deformation front. Variations in structural style along strike can be related to different stages of oblique collision in Taiwan. The deformation front (collision front) west of Taiwan can be considered as a boundary 3 between contraction in the Taiwan orogen and extension west of the collisional zone. The deformation front east of the Tainan Basin and its northward extension along the outer limit of the Western Foothills is the surface trace separating the foreland thrust belt from the nearby foredeep, not a boundary between the Chinese and Taiwan margins.
