2023-01-012024-05-18https://scholars.lib.ntu.edu.tw/handle/123456789/700049有鑑於人類飽受各種癌症之苦,嚴重危害國人健康,故若能找出有效治療或抑制癌症的方法實屬重要。過去以色列團隊開發的腫瘤電場治療法(Tumor Treating Field, TTF),目前已經能夠對部分的腦瘤患者提供一定程度的療效,這個概念顛覆了以往治療癌症需要使用化療藥物的想法,而不同於TTF的抑癌技術,本團隊近日開發出一種非侵入式之低強度脈衝電場裝置,其完全非接觸式之設計故不會於患處產生電流與焦耳熱效應,前期計畫的實驗結果已發現在搭配使用低強度的電脈衝刺激就能對於胰臟癌和肝癌細胞有抑制的效果。 我們認為使用物理場刺激的方法治療癌症,並不會如一般抗癌藥物留下較大副作用,對一般細胞的危害也較低,因此這種使用物理場搭配或取代藥物的創新治療方式,已經漸漸開始被許多研究學者所注意到。有鑒於此,我們認為如果將使用藥物和物理場的方式作結合,透過物理場的輔助,應有可能降低傳統必須投入的藥物劑量且又可達到相當的醫療效果。近日,本團隊首度提出藉由低強度之電脈衝刺激結合天然植化素的綜合性抑癌療法,研究發現其對於人類好幾種癌細胞株均有很好的協同抑癌效果,目前結果顯示其效果已接近化療藥物的等級,此外我們也初步發現藉助循環式熱療法等物理刺激對肺癌細胞所產生之協同效應可以降低化療和標靶藥物使用之劑量,更值得一提的是本方法幾乎不會對正常細胞產生影響,因此本團隊相信採取以不同物理刺激之方式進行的綜合性癌症療法,將來可能是未來對付癌症的一個很好的手段和方法。在本計畫中,我們將持續研究此物理性綜合療法用於治療癌症的可能性,並透過本計畫各項新研究子題之整體規劃、完成計畫所設定的主題和方向。 In view of the fact that human beings suffer from various cancers, it is important to find an effective treatment or suppression method for cancer. In recent decades, the tumor treating field (TTF) developed by the Israel team has been able to provide a certain degree of curative effect for some patients with brain tumors, subverting the previous idea that the treatment of cancer requires the use of chemotherapeutics. However, different from TTF, my research team has recently developed a non-invasive low-intensity pulsed electric field technique, which dose not generate electric current and Joule heating on the affected region. In previous project, the study has found that in combination with electrical pulse stimulation can have an inhibitory effect on pancreatic cancer and liver cancer cells. We believe that the use of physical stimulation to treat cancer will not leave greater side effects like common chemotherapy drugs, and has lower harm to normal cells. Therefore, this innovative treatment that uses physical stimuli to match or replace drugs has gradually begun to be noticed by many researchers. In view of this, we believe that if the drugs and physical stimuli are combined, with the stimulation of the physical methods, it should be possible to reduce the drug dosage and achieve comparable medical effects. Recently, my research team first proposed an effective anticancer therapy combining low-intensity electrical pulse stimulation and natural phytochemicals. The study found that it has a good synergistic anticancer effect on several human cancer cell lines, and the results showed that its anticancer effect is close to the in vitro efficacy of chemotherapy drugs. In addition, we have also found that the synergistic effect via the thermal-cycling hyperthermia (TC-HT) therapy on A549 lung cancer cells can reduce the dosage of chemotherapy and target cancer drugs. It’s worth to note that this method does not affect the normal cells. Therefore, we believe that the combined cancer therapy with various physical stimulations may be a good means and method to overcome cancer in the future.
