Shaw在《拉丁美洲新小說》(Nueva narrativa hisapnoamericana)和José Donoso在《文學爆炸親歷記》解析「爆炸時期」的時間，以一九七一年古巴詩人Heberto Padilla流亡美國事件為分界。本計畫以「後爆炸時期」一九八O年代開始為研究重點，原因為此年代以Isabel Allende為首，開啟另一波後期魔幻寫實與女性書寫的風潮。另一原因則是以年代作為斷代研究的便利 (研究闡述時將會針對「後爆炸時期」的緣起、淵源詳述)。基於91年度計畫已先行規劃一九八O年代之前之作品優先蒐集研究，且頗有收穫。因此此期計畫將以拉丁美洲後爆炸時期電影與小說的女性議題（兼述<br> Abstract: This project is aimed at studying Latin American novels and movies since 1980s, or the so-called “postboom” after 1971 beginning with the Heberto Padilla´s case. Actually, this project will form part of a series of studies regarding modern Latin American novels and movies of the twentieth century, a continuation of what I have been researching recently on Latin American novels and movies from the 1940s through the 1980s. The reason of choosing the 1980s as a time division is that starting the 1980s Latin American literature has made a return from “magical realism” to “realism”, though the influence of “magical realism” is still potential. In addition, the women issue, pioneered with Isabel Allende’s literary works, has become an important topic in Latin American cultural studies. As of the 1990s, some of the notable literary works attended more problems of urban life, such as sexual and drug abuse issues as well as pop cultures. In this project, both the influence of magical realism and women studies will be the focus of the postboom research, such as Isabel Allende´s The House of the Spiritus, Of Love and Shadows; Laura Esquivel´s Like Water for Chocolate and Frida Kahlo (based on her Diary and Hayden Herrera´s biography Frida, a biography of Frida Kahlo). Then, Antonio Skármeta´s The Postman will be the major work for studying the “realism” of postboom. Besides, Jaime Bayly´s Don´t tell anyone and It was yesterday and I don´t remember will be examined as a new tendency in Latin American cross-the-century literary studies. This will be the first cross-cultural study of different genres to date in the Spanish academic society in Taiwan. With this project, I expect to accomplish both a panaramic investigation into the Modern Latin American literature and movies and a detailed research on related works. Furthermore, a homepage featuring video clips will be designed so that those motion pictures studied in this project can be posted onto the Internet.
