Here we report quantitative in situ measurements of step flow together with a kinetic model that reproduces the behavior. This allows us to identify the key parameters controlling step-flow growth, evaluate changes in the catalyst composition during growth, and identify the most favorable conditions for growing abrupt heterojunctions in nanowires.Step-flow kinetics in nanowire growthjournal article10.1103/PhysRevLett.105.1955022-s2.0-78149261867https://www.scopus.com/inward/record.uri?eid=2-s2.0-78149261867&doi=10.1103%2fPhysRevLett.105.195502&partnerID=40&md5=f1fc2aaa150b29792fa656c2eb4dfed0
