2012-01-012024-05-13https://scholars.lib.ntu.edu.tw/handle/123456789/643389摘要：酵母菌是一種重要且最早被科學家們所建立的模式生物系統，其歷史已超過七十年。在臺灣，有超過四十個實驗室以酵母菌為主要研究工具來探討重要之生物現象。然而，目前尚未有核心實驗室或專人負責統籌國內酵母菌之資料及菌種收集、交換、交流和提供實驗方法等作業。由於，臺大醫學院與陽明大學的酵母菌生物學者認為每學期舉行酵母菌研討會以便於交流研究發現、資訊、菌種資源及研究構想是非常重要的。因此，於西元2000 年舉辦國內第一次酵母菌研討會。往後，雖無政府計畫奧援，但鄧述諄教授及李芳仁教授仍持續利用兩個實驗室有限之資源提供酵母菌基因剔除與變異菌種，定期讓學生發表研究之進展。至今，每年酵母菌研討會約有超過200 位學生及的科學家共襄盛舉。在臺灣，我們擁有實力堅強的酵母菌研究團隊，且能夠發表研究論文於Cell、Science 及Genes and Development 等國際知名期刊。但我們不因現狀而滿足，為了要與歐美研究團隊相抗衡，41 位實驗室計畫主持人一致認為必需整合國內所有酵母菌研究資源。因此，我們將計劃在臺大醫學院設立酵母菌資源核心實驗室以完成資料庫建置，並作為資源交流之平臺，以加速臺灣利用酵母菌模式研究領域之發展。<br> Abstract: Yeast is a great and first established model system that has been set up by scientists formore than 70 years. There are more than 40 labs in Taiwan using yeast as their majororganism to study important biological problems. However, there is no core lab or person tobe in charge of coordinating yeast groups for material collections and exchange, interactionand sending away protocols. In year 2000, yeast biologists from National Taiwan UniversityCollege of Medicine and Yang-Ming University felt that it is important to launch a yeastmeeting to let yeast group people to meet each semester to exchange their research findings,information, yeast strain resource and research idea. Therefore, the first Yeast Meeting ofTaiwan was held in National Taiwan University College of Medicine in 2000 hosted by Drs.Shu-Chun Teng and Fang-Jen Lee. Back then we did not have any resource from thegovernment. We just provided yeast mutant and knockout strains and let students present theirrecent progress in yeast meeting. Now this meeting is held regularly once a year and ~ 200students and scientists attend this meeting each year. More than forty investigators currentlyfeel that this is still not enough. In order to compete with leading groups in the US and Europe,we need a more organized way for all yeast teams in Taiwan. We have strong yeast teams inTaiwan and published papers to Cell, Science, Genes and Development, etc. We plan toestablish a Yeast Core Lab in National Taiwan University College of Medicine for organizingdatabase, and exchanging materials. This will speed up the progress of yeast research groupsin Taiwan.
