The dataset contains 27 cross-sectional units with time span from 1993 to 2008. Brief overview of migration literature is followed by the discussion of available migration data in Czech Republic and the problems connected. Then empirical model is constructed. Migration is explained here mainly through economic variables such as wage levels and unemployment rates in both, home and source countries. Moreover, additional explanatory variables such as geographical distance and cross-sectional dummies for home countries are used. It turns out that increasing Czech GDP or higher unemployment in source countries increase the number of labour migrants in Czech Republic.
