2006-04-012024-05-13https://scholars.lib.ntu.edu.tw/handle/123456789/651751摘要：圖書資訊學的研究目標，是以有效簡易的方式連結使用者與知識載體。近年圖書資訊學的發展擴展至網路與數位技術的發展。圖書資訊學之研究主題已延伸至知識管理、數位圖書館、書目計量學，以及人機互動等領域，研究成果也已達一定之廣度與深度。根據圖書資訊學領域的研究趨勢以及本系教師的研究專長，本系制訂三個策略發展方向，包括數位典藏、使用者行為與書目計量等，以達成全面提昇本系學術研究能量之目的。本系擬就上述三大研究領域進行整合型計畫，期能提昇本系研究能量並達成在圖書資訊學領域領航之目的。在接下來的5年內，本系擬徵聘新教師以充實本系之研究團隊，並積極推動與各國相關系所及研究單位之交流。由於本系之執行策略包括：加強科際整合之研究；增進國際交流，增廣國際視野；以及積極培育具多元能力之專業人才。因此本系之執行方式在於編列經費逐步改善教學與學習環境品質，並協助師生獲得更多國際交流機會。本年度首重延聘國際知名之圖資領域學者至本系擔任客座教授，除可協助學生獲取更多最新知識亦可藉此加強國際交流與合作；亦編列經費協助教師延聘研究助理以支援研究，提昇學術發展。<br> Abstract: The mission of library and information science is to facilitate the interaction between users and literature. With the development of Internet and digital technologies, LIS has extended its areas of expertise to interdisciplinary efforts in knowledge management, digital libraries, bibliometics, as well as human-computer interaction. These areas of research and practice are integral parts of the government’s efforts in promoting value-added services for digital contents and assets; they also reflect the urgent demand for better organization and utilization of information in an “information society.” Based on the strength of our department and the research trends in LIS, we have identified several strategic areas, like Digital Museum, User Studies, and Bibliometrics that we believe where the resources will be best allocated to maximize the department’s overall goal of excellence. The department has demonstrated research and teaching excellence in the past, if coupled with proper planning and sufficient support, we believe that we have a great potential to become a leading department not just nationally but also internationally. We have set the goal for ourselves to become the top LIS institution in Asia in five years. In the following five years, we will be recruiting new faculty members to join our already established research team. We also plan to solidify our ties with research institutes both domestically and internationally by hosting international symposiums and inviting visiting scholars overseas. Such efforts would not only facilitate exchange of ideas but also promote the department’s international visibility. Three of the execution strategies of the department are establish interdisciplinary research units, broaden international horizon, and educate future information professionals. One of the missions of the department is to produce information professionals who are able to advance professional practices and contribute to the growth of knowledge in the field of LIS. We believe that an information professional is a person who is not only capable of assuming the role of evaluating, organizing and representing information for effective retrieval, but also equipped with a clear understanding of the professional ethics. Through our course work, we hope to instill in our students a strong belief in intellectual freedom and right to information access in a democratic society. We pride ourselves on the fact that our past graduates have assumed the readership role in the library community and other information related professions in Taiwan.
