Soil and Water Conservation Bureau and Taiwan Forest Bureau, Council of Agriculture (2000) used aerial photos and satellite images and identified more than 20,000 land variation items. Slope failure caused by earthquake has become an important topic and more researches concerning the responses of slopes under seismic loading are needed. The objective of this research is to establish the assessment model for seismic slope stability based on the displacement field and performance of the slope. Both laboratory and large-scale model slope tests will be held using shaking table to understand the seismic slope behavior. Large-scale model slope test will be conducted based on earthquake records and reconstituted specimen to simulate prototype slope behavior during earthquake. The Law of Similitude will be reexamined based on the displacement field, and techniques for displacement measurements for both the slope surface and inside the slope mass will be developed to provide further information of seismic slope displacement. Responses as well as the displacements of the slopes will be monitored and analyzed. Based on the testing results, slope analysis will be performed to simulate slope behavior during earthquake. The displacements analysis and assessment model will be established, and verified using field data collected in Chi-Chi earthquake. The results of this study could provide basic understandings of seismic slope behavior and to evaluate the seismic slope stability based on the displacement performance of the slope, which appears to be more solid and can be monitored. This project is a two-year project; current proposal is the first-year of the project.邊坡破壞模型試驗振動台slope failuremodel testshaking table邊坡受震振動台模型試驗及位移行為分析
