Walker and Avant (2005) method of analysis development was used to examine the concept of role transition. Four defining attributes of role transition were identified: 1) the awareness of the existence for new and old role; 2) a set of expectations that define the behavior deems appropriate for the position; 3) involving changing the way one thinks, abilities and acts; 4) a process of changing from one state to another. Antecedents of role transition include the personal and the environmental factors. Finally, after the process, two consequences of role transition will be the healthy and the unhealthy role transition.
