It is definitely different from the other clinical departments or basic medical sciences departments in the Medicine College, NTU since we aim for cultivating the future professionals in integrated crossdisciplined research in clinical genomics. We develop the customized course curriculum and training for our Ph.D. students who might come from different backgrounds so as to promote them to be well trained in applications, research and development of clinical genomics. Academic Research To conduct the clinical genomics researches that focus on translational medical studies. We aim for the researches and developments of monogenic diseases and common complex diseases such as cardiovascular disease and cancers.於基因科學相關之領域之中，本校已具有相關之研究及教育資源，如醫學院、生命科學院、生物資源暨農學院、及電機工程學院等其他相關跨領域之學院與系所、以及新近籌設之基因體醫學中心等等，確實已提供極為廣泛之基因科學相關研究能量及培育人才，但基因體暨蛋白體醫學研究所之成立及運作，將進一步提升各研究單位基因醫學相關之跨領域合作，並和臺大醫院充沛之優勢臨床研究能量與基礎相關學科之間充分結合，如此絕對能進一步提升臺大於基因醫學相關領域之發展及確立領導龍頭之地位。為補強各基因科學研究單位及臨床單位由於在專業背景及需求上之需求差異性所造成之互動及溝通不足，基因體暨蛋白體醫學研究所之成立雖然無法滿足基因科學相關領域所有的需求，卻能有助於解決上述之困境，並於臺大各學院間基因科學相關研究之橫向及縱向跨領域整合之中，扮演關鍵性的角色。 有別於其他臨床或基礎學科，本所以培育跨領域之臨床基因醫學研究領導人才為首要目標。為新一代、來自各種不同領域之專才提供量身訂製、涵蓋各領域之臨床基因醫學教育。使其在研究所的訓練中，具備臨床基因醫學應用、研發的知識、跨領域溝通學習的經驗及領導能力。這些領導人才將是國家競爭力中最重要的無形資產，將來可在社會的不同崗位上貢獻其智慧，帶領各種形式的團隊，共同為提昇臨床基因醫學的國際競爭力及打造臺灣成為全球生物醫學重鎮而努力。 ♦ 本所研究方向：由基因體學及蛋白體學研究的角度出發，進行以臨床應用為導向之轉譯醫學研究。Academic Institute
