The growing rate of aging population ranks top second all over the world, only next to Japan. The healthcare for the elderly people becomes one of the major tasks for all healthcare professionals. Hence, it is important to provide sufficient education program in geriatric medicine, especially for tomorrow’s physicians.Geriatric medicine and geriatric care must cover multi-dimensional disciplines and multi-layer care ability. An adequate assessment tool is useful not only for evaluating the students' performance, but also for evaluating the clinical competence. Computer-based testing is a popular assessment tool currently. It is used for medical license examination in USA. Moreover, it could integrate with diverse feedback system to improve student’s learning performance. This project will develop a multi-media on-line examination system in geriatric medicine. It contains several types of questions supported by a variety of media. To emphasize on evaluating the learning process, this feedback system and the knowledge structure based computerized adaptive diagnostic testing will be used as remedy lecturing tool for learning. This system could diagnose students' errors, reduce test items and limit the time of test. The virtual patient auxiliary teaching system established in this proposal will provide resources for computer-based clinical evaluation in geriatric medicine.老年醫學教育電腦輔助測驗電腦化適性診斷測驗geriatric medicinecomputer-based auxiliary examinationcomputerized adaptive diagnostic testingE-Evaluation System in Geriatric Medical Education
