In this thesis, a brief review was given to standard electronic ballast circuits and the various dimming schemes reported. An experimental prototype was fabricated based on SGS-Thomson Company''s integrated circuit L6574. The power circuit configuration used was a half-bridge parallel resonant inverter and frequency- modulation scheme was used for dimming capability.
