In this paper, we examine how ANNs can be used to improve decision making in apparel supply chain systems. We focus on four major application areas, namely the data mining of customer's buying preferences, sales forecasting, inventory level prediction, and optimization of marker planning in apparel production. Limitations of ANNs and the future research directions on using ANNs for apparel supply chain management are discussed. ? 2016 Elsevier Ltd All rights reserved.ANN; Artificial neural networks; Decision making; Intelligent systemsChains; Data mining; Intelligent systems; Inventory control; Neural networks; Sales; Supply chain management; Apparel supply chains; Application area; Future research directions; Inventory levels; Ready to use; Sales forecasting; Decision makingUsing artificial neural networks to improve decision making in apparel supply chain systemsbook chapter10.1016/B978-0-08-100571-2.00005-12-s2.0-84979953400
