Both of these compositions show magnetic order despite the fact that theoretical calculation expected a non-magnetic ground state for these compositions. Magnetic ordering temperatures for both of these compounds are nearby room temperature. The objective of this research proposal is to develop novel Ru - based half-metallic full-Heusler alloys for device applications. We chose Ru2NbAl and Ru2VAl as our base system. Both of these systems are estimated to be semi-metallic with pseudo-gap.
